Chocolate Bunt Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp espresso powder (Starbucks espresso bean ground Turkish)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolates

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees( F). Butter and lightly flour bunt cake pan.
  • Step 1. Add flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, salt and espresso powder to a large bowl of a stand mixer. Mix until combined.
  • Step 2. Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to flour mixture and mix together on medium speed until well combined. Reduce speed and carefully add boiling water to the cake batter until well combined.
  • Step 3. Distribute cake batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans. Bake for 45-50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center of the chocolate cake comes out clean.

Icing Ingredients

  • 1 cup powder sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk

Directions

  • Step 1. Mix powdered sugar and milk until spreadable (mixture will thicken slightly as it sets)
  • To prevent the icing from running, make sure your dessert is completely cool before adding the powdered sugar frosting.
